Getting Connected
Do you need to set up a shared Internet connection for your entire office? DataCorp can recommend the best type of service for your needs. We can also help you determine what options are available at your location.
- Help you find out what connection options are available in your geographical location, such as DSL, ISDN, and T1.
- We will coordinate with communications vendors such as your local phone company to get your office connected
- Router installation and configuration
Working Away from the Office
- Virtual Private Networks for remote employees. Using a VPN closes many of the security holes that exist in other Internet services, such as email.
- Citrix and Windows Terminal Services installation
Local-Area and Wide-Area Networking
DataCorp offers networking services from the first step of wiring to the last step of setting up PC workstations, and also ongoing support and maintenance as long as you need it.
New Installations
- Wire your office with industry-standard cables or optical fiber, and connection hardware
- Install the necessary hubs, switches, and routers
- Set up a local-area network (LAN) for your office using Windows Server® 2008 or Windows Server® 2003
- Configure your Windows® Server for Active Directory, and sharing files on your workstations
- Set up user accounts for all of your employees
- Configure workstations to log in to the network
- Set up printers for shared use on the network
- Install back-up devices for your server or servers
Existing Installations
If you already have a functional network, DataCorp can provide other services for your company:
- Upgrade your network speed from 10 megabit/second to 100 megabit /second speed or higher
- Add new PC workstations to your network (including the purchasing of additional workstation licenses)
- Add hubs or switches as needed when adding new PC workstations
- Add new user accounts for additional employees
- Troubleshoot network problems or speed problems
Pricing Information
We generally do network installations by giving you an estimate or "bid" for the work. The estimate includes the cost of all hardware needed. To help us estimate, we generally ask the following types of questions:
- How many servers will be installed?
- How many workstations will be needed?
- Is your office already wired with CAT-5 cabling for a network?
- Do you have "dropped" ceilings, also known as false ceilings?
- Do you have RJ-45 wall jacks in place already?
